NIH has 1.2 billion available in funding per year for small businesses, through the Small Business Programs (i.e. Small Business Innovation Research-SBIR and Small Business Technology Transfer-STTR). The SEED Office (Small business Education and Entrepreneurial Development) helps entrepreneurs move their promising discoveries through the early product development pipeline by aligning resources with this dedicated funding. This session will highlight NIH’s strategic focus on early product development, resources, and opportunities available to small business innovators.

Upon completion of this session, participants will be able to:

• Understand how to access the 1.2 billion available to small business through the NIH Small Business Programs

• Describe the entrepreneurial support provided by SEED

• Understand how NIH can help innovators transform science projects into product development projects.
